Emma Von Enck is a current principal with the New York City Ballet. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Emma watched her two older sisters train, perform, and pursue careers as professional ballet dancers. She began her dance training at age 5, attending the Royal School of Ballet with Joanne Morscher. Emma continued her dance education at the Cleveland School of Dance under the guidance of Gladisa Guadalupe and later at the Cleveland Ballet Conservatory with Kerry Skuderin. In 2011, she attended the School of American Ballet (SAB) summer intensive, moving to New York in 2012 as a full-time student.
In August 2016, Ms. Von Enck was accepted as an apprentice with the New York City Ballet (NYCB) and officially joined the corps de ballet in 2017. Emma was promoted to the rank of soloist in January 2022, and to principal in May 2024. Throughout her time in the company, she has performed works by renowned choreographers, including George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Christopher Wheeldon, Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky, and Gianna Reisen. Additionally, she has collaborated with various choreographers and artists on new works.
